F.A.Q.s

How difficult is the setup/takedown of Recoverex? How long does it take?
The Recoverex cold plunge is designed to be quickly set up and taken down without the need for tools. Inflate the tub, connect hoses to the chiller and plug in the power cord, and fill with water. Reversing these steps takes around 15 minutes on average, depending on water pressure. For detailed instructions and videos, visit our website.

How does the water stay clean in Recoverex?
Overall, with the 2-step water filtration system and Sirona Simply Oxidizer and Sanitizer, the Recoverex tub ensures that the water stays clean and safe for each use. This means that you can enjoy your cold plunge sessions without having to worry about any contaminants or impurities in the water. The ozone filtration system is highly effective at killing bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms in the water, while the 20-micron filter removes particles and debris to keep the water crystal clear. Using the Sirona Simply Oxidizer and Sanitizer also helps to further sanitize and oxidize the water. The combination of these measures ensures that the water in our Recoverex cold plunge setup stays clean, safe, and refreshing for every use.

How long do you recommend staying in Recoverex?
As a new user, it is recommended to start with shorter durations and higher water temperatures in the range of 50-60°F (10-15.5°C) for 2-4 minutes. Gradually, you can work your way up to longer durations and colder temperatures, such as 40-50°F (4.5-10°C) for up to 10 minutes. It is important to listen to your body and exit the ice bath if you feel uncomfortable or experience numbness or tingling. It's always a good idea to consult with a healthcare professional before starting a new cold water immersion routine.

Who should not partake in Cold Water Immersion using Recoverex?
People with certain medical conditions should not partake in cold water immersion using Recoverex. This includes people with heart conditions, high blood pressure, and respiratory issues. It is also not recommended for pregnant women and children. As with any new physical activity, it is always best to consult with a healthcare professional before trying cold water immersion.

When should I use Recoverex after a workout?
Recoverex can be used for a variety of reasons, including post-workout recovery, injury rehabilitation, stress relief, and improving overall health and wellness. There are several studies that suggest cold plunge therapy can be beneficial for hypertrophy and strength training. One reason to wait 4 hours after a workout before taking a cold plunge is that during this time, the body is in a state of inflammation and repairing muscle damage caused by exercise. This inflammation and muscle damage can lead to muscle soreness and fatigue.

Will Recoverex leak air?
Recoverex is constructed with durable drop-stitch fabric, which exhibits exceptional resistance to air leakage. However, fluctuations in ambient temperature may cause a reduction in air pressure, resulting in a loss of 1-2 PSI per month. To maintain optimal air pressure, the tub can be conveniently inflated using the provided hand pump, even if the tub contains water. During this process, caution must be exercised to avoid inadvertently depressing the deflate valve.
In the event of discovering a leak in the Recoverex tub, we recommend utilizing the patch included in the tub replacement kit to locate and repair the hole. If you require assistance or have any queries concerning repairs or leaks, kindly reach out to our staff.

Can Recoverex be used without the Chiller?
Yes, simply use ice and ensure the inlet and outlet connections are sealed with the provided caps.

What is Ozone filtration and how does it work?
Ozone filtration is a process that uses ozone gas to kill bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms in the water. Ozone is a powerful oxidizing agent that breaks down organic compounds and contaminants in the water, leaving it clean and safe for use. The ozone filtration system in the Recoverex tub is highly effective at removing impurities and ensuring that the water is crystal clear.

How does Cold Water Immersion using Recoverex differ from CryoTherapy?
Cold water immersion with Recoverex involves immersing the body in cold water for short periods of time to reduce inflammation, muscle soreness, and fatigue, while cryotherapy involves exposing the body to extremely cold temperatures for a shorter duration. While both have similar benefits, cold water immersion is more accessible and comfortable, making it an ideal option for many people.

How sturdy is Recoverex?

My Recoverex has sprung a leak! What should I do?
If you have a leak, drain the water from your tub and disconnect the hoses from the chiller. To find a hole in your Recoverex inflatable tub, inflate the tub to 10 psi to 12 psi and spray it with a mixture of water and dish soap. Look for bubbles that indicate air escaping from a puncture. Once you have identified the location of the hole, dry the area thoroughly and mark the spot.
To patch the hole, deflate the tub and apply a patch using the repair kit that came with the tub. Ensure that the area around the hole is clean and dry before applying the patch. Allow the patch to dry completely before inflating the tub again.

Why does my power keep tripping off when using Recoverex?
If the power keeps tripping off when using Recoverex, it may be due to an overload of the electrical circuit. Recoverex requires a dedicated 110V/15A/60 hz circuit with a GFCI outlet. If the circuit is shared with other appliances or the circuit breaker is not rated for the load, it can cause the circuit to trip.
To fix this issue, try plugging the Recoverex into a dedicated outlet with a higher amperage rating, or unplug other devices sharing the same circuit to reduce the load. It is also recommended to consult a qualified electrician to inspect the electrical circuit and ensure it meets the necessary requirements.
